The Holding Pool

You run dismissal for a K–5 of ~600: one Line Walker entering placard numbers at the curb, one Line Marshal calling students out of the gym, thirty minutes to empty the building. Kids pool in the holding area while cars trickle in — so this terrain draws each zone as a basin of standing water: students pooled, waits stagnating from clear cyan to sour rust, released pickups settling into silt at the bottom. Every number here is illustrative — synthetic records shaped like this operation, not its real figures.

• Twelve basins = lanes, bus routes, gate, rack, extended day. Water level = kids still waiting; ticks on the top rim = cars queued at the curb; silt band = already released.
